So very very very much going on....

There's just too much happening at the moment I just don't know where to begin!
We go to Perth in 2 weeks for Danny's nephew's engagement party.

Nicholas also now has to see an orthodontist, so we've managed to get him an appointment on the Friday. Now that was a mission in itself! I rang the one that is meant to come down here, but was told they're not taking new patients... wtf? Oh but he's got a new partner starting, but there's no appointments until next year....what?
So I decided to ring the orthodontists in Perth to get an appointment. Well... one lot had appointments available, but because there was no one there who could do records, we couldn't get an appointment! oh please...
But we managed to find 1 orthodontist in the whole of Perth who had an appointment available... yippee! So we got the paperwork and it said that the first appointment was a consultation only, we would get a referral for x-rays and have to come back another day...! ummmm no! So I rang them and organised the referral for the x-rays, and to combine the first 2 appointments... people sometimes have no idea how far away we actually are!
So now we go to Perth Thursday after work... Nicholas will get his x-ray first thing in the morning (that was another drama...) and then we have to be in Ocean Reef by 12.50.. it's going to be a busy day....

So what else has been happening...
Well yesterday Nicholas turned 12! what... where have the last 12 years gone... OMG... but he is growing up to be a good young man... I hope it continues!
But he had a party last night with some of his friends over, they all had a ball, but they wore me out!
And I had a garage sale yesterday as well... nothing like a glutton for punishment am I...

And I've been scrapping...
There's been a lot to do. I have an online class coming up for S4L in August, so I had to organise the kit, and then do the example.... you will just have to wait for the sneak peeks, but let me tell you IT'S TOTALLY AWESOME! if I do say so myself....
There's been Blind challenges at S4L, challenges at the Boxx, and just so very much else.

And talking about The Boxx... well... how awesome is the new site Maria has come up with... talk about totally addictive... but Maria, you've done an awesome awesome awesome job....

So I'm going to leave you with some of the layouts I've done over the last couple of weeks....

These are the blind scrapping challenges for this week and from 2 weeks ago...

You get a list of ingredients and instructions to put the layout together and that's it. There is no pic of the final layout. It really is a lot of fun.

And here are a couple of layouts from challenges at the Boxx...

There's probably more I've done, but I can't remember what they are... have yourselves a great week won't you...

Some sad news...

Yes.. Jenny at Really Just Ribbons has announced that she is closing down her shop.
She will be welcoming a new addition to the family soon and has decided to spend her time focussing on her beautiful children.
I'm so sad to see her go and all the beautiful ribbons she had. And I have to thank Jenny so very much for giving me the opportunity to be on her Design Team. It was the first DT I'd been on and I had an absolutely wonderful time playing with the ribbons and I am going to so miss it.
But on the flip side... Jenny is having a closing down sale... so if your ribbon stash is looking a little bit sad head on over and get yourself a bargain!
I think I left some in the shop... lol
Thanks Jenny for such a wonderful time and all the best for your new addition.

A home among the gumtrees...

This is just a quick share....

So here are my 4 layouts from the challenges that Michelle had posted...

And also going on at S4L has been a lot of challenge the DT, so I've had a couple of challenges for that to do...thanks Beccy!

And then there was also the S4L whisper layout....

So it's all been happening at S4L....
and there's more in coming up... A Blind Challenge tomorrow... this is going to be heaps of fun
and coming up in August is a S4L National Scrapbooking Day with heaps being planned....

The lo that missed out....

I thought I should share this layout... I did this one for the Scraptacular comp in the Kerrin Quall style.
It really was a hard choice an unfortunately this one missed out... but I still love this one...

So onto other things... it's been a bad week... very very bad week workwise. Everything that could possibly go wrong did yesterday and at one point we were looking very lucky to get the paper to the printers. But as normal, Dave and I did it and the paper came out on time. And of course... no thank yous from management either.

So what else... well I did a new stamp binder and I really love this one. Very simple, very cheap.
I bought some 3L file strips and used them to hold zip lock bags in the file and made up the binder for it.
Here are the pics....

I've stuck the stamps onto transparency sheets cut to fit the bags.
It works really well as the stamps won't fall out of the ziplock bags, and I can add as many as needed to fill the folder without it costing an arm and a leg.

So I guess I had better go scrap now... lol

OMG! OMG! OMG!

OMG OMG OMG...
Last night the winner of the Scrapbooking 4 Less 2008 Scraptacular was announced.... and it was my name... OMG OMG OMG
And yes... I'm still in shock...

I want to thank Shelley and Beccy for a wonderful competition...
It really was hard researching the various styles of well-known names in scrapbooking and then doing a layout based on their style.
It really pulled me out of my comfort zone and I've learnt so much about scrapbooking...

And I have to thank Lisa and Kelly, the other finalists and everyone who entered a layout... all of the layouts were totally awesome! Well done everyone...

So here are my layouts for the final round....

This is the Kerrin Quall style layout....

This is the Marah Johnson style layout....

sorry this layout has been accepted for publication....

And this is the layout done in my style...

Thank you once again Shelley and Beccy!

You know... sometimes it takes a kick to realise just how precious life is.

DH went into work this afternoon on afternoon shift to find out that one of the guys he works with was sucked down a chute when he was repairing a blocked valve. Apparently when it let go, the peas in the chute flowed down, and he went too...
He was very very lucky to be able to keep his face and an arm free of the peas, otherwise he would have suffocated...

It could have so easily been dh...

Things like this make you realise just how precious life actually is!
