The lo that missed out....

I thought I should share this layout... I did this one for the Scraptacular comp in the Kerrin Quall style.
It really was a hard choice an unfortunately this one missed out... but I still love this one...

So onto other things... it's been a bad week... very very bad week workwise. Everything that could possibly go wrong did yesterday and at one point we were looking very lucky to get the paper to the printers. But as normal, Dave and I did it and the paper came out on time. And of course... no thank yous from management either.

So what else... well I did a new stamp binder and I really love this one. Very simple, very cheap.
I bought some 3L file strips and used them to hold zip lock bags in the file and made up the binder for it.
Here are the pics....

I've stuck the stamps onto transparency sheets cut to fit the bags.
It works really well as the stamps won't fall out of the ziplock bags, and I can add as many as needed to fill the folder without it costing an arm and a leg.

So I guess I had better go scrap now... lol

OMG! OMG! OMG!

OMG OMG OMG...
Last night the winner of the Scrapbooking 4 Less 2008 Scraptacular was announced.... and it was my name... OMG OMG OMG
And yes... I'm still in shock...

I want to thank Shelley and Beccy for a wonderful competition...
It really was hard researching the various styles of well-known names in scrapbooking and then doing a layout based on their style.
It really pulled me out of my comfort zone and I've learnt so much about scrapbooking...

And I have to thank Lisa and Kelly, the other finalists and everyone who entered a layout... all of the layouts were totally awesome! Well done everyone...

So here are my layouts for the final round....

This is the Kerrin Quall style layout....

This is the Marah Johnson style layout....

sorry this layout has been accepted for publication....

And this is the layout done in my style...

Thank you once again Shelley and Beccy!

You know... sometimes it takes a kick to realise just how precious life is.

DH went into work this afternoon on afternoon shift to find out that one of the guys he works with was sucked down a chute when he was repairing a blocked valve. Apparently when it let go, the peas in the chute flowed down, and he went too...
He was very very lucky to be able to keep his face and an arm free of the peas, otherwise he would have suffocated...

It could have so easily been dh...

Things like this make you realise just how precious life actually is!
