Waltzing Matilda

The boys didn't know this song... now they do! I actually made them read it from a book of Banjo Patterson I have!

It goes with my summer music box house... and what's more summer than an Aussie Summer!

The roof and the windmill were the most fun. A lot of work but it was worth it. I couldn't get a windmill locally so I printed out a pic, traced it onto chipboard and then handcut it.
To get the rusted tin look, I painted the roof and the windmill silver, sprayed with leather glimmermist, dabbed with copper and black then wiped them off, then sprayed again with the glimmermist.
I think it was well worth the work.

Here are some detail pics...

And of course this one plays Waltzing Matilda!!!!

The flowers might be a bit much, but I like the colour... what do you think?

Oh my gosh Toni, you have really captured the look of the outback with this one! I agree with you that the extra work you put in to colouring the roof and windmill were worth it, they are fantastic! Where is the actual music box? Does it go inside the house?
