The lo that missed out....

I thought I should share this layout... I did this one for the Scraptacular comp in the Kerrin Quall style.
It really was a hard choice an unfortunately this one missed out... but I still love this one...

So onto other things... it's been a bad week... very very bad week workwise. Everything that could possibly go wrong did yesterday and at one point we were looking very lucky to get the paper to the printers. But as normal, Dave and I did it and the paper came out on time. And of course... no thank yous from management either.

So what else... well I did a new stamp binder and I really love this one. Very simple, very cheap.
I bought some 3L file strips and used them to hold zip lock bags in the file and made up the binder for it.
Here are the pics....

I've stuck the stamps onto transparency sheets cut to fit the bags.
It works really well as the stamps won't fall out of the ziplock bags, and I can add as many as needed to fill the folder without it costing an arm and a leg.

So I guess I had better go scrap now... lol

OMG! OMG! OMG!

OMG OMG OMG...
Last night the winner of the Scrapbooking 4 Less 2008 Scraptacular was announced.... and it was my name... OMG OMG OMG
And yes... I'm still in shock...

I want to thank Shelley and Beccy for a wonderful competition...
It really was hard researching the various styles of well-known names in scrapbooking and then doing a layout based on their style.
It really pulled me out of my comfort zone and I've learnt so much about scrapbooking...

And I have to thank Lisa and Kelly, the other finalists and everyone who entered a layout... all of the layouts were totally awesome! Well done everyone...

So here are my layouts for the final round....

This is the Kerrin Quall style layout....

This is the Marah Johnson style layout....

sorry this layout has been accepted for publication....

And this is the layout done in my style...

Thank you once again Shelley and Beccy!

You know... sometimes it takes a kick to realise just how precious life is.

DH went into work this afternoon on afternoon shift to find out that one of the guys he works with was sucked down a chute when he was repairing a blocked valve. Apparently when it let go, the peas in the chute flowed down, and he went too...
He was very very lucky to be able to keep his face and an arm free of the peas, otherwise he would have suffocated...

It could have so easily been dh...

Things like this make you realise just how precious life actually is!

yeh yeh slack I know! But I have been busy you know....

There's been a fair bit of scrapping, working on the family history, work and then there was a trip to Perth thrown in for good measure! lol... so yeh.. busy.

So what scrapping have I been doing... well when I remember I will tell you. :)
I know there was the Scraptacular round 4 layouts, but I can't share them here atm, so if you want to look you will have to head on over to Scrapbooking 4 Less to have a look... especially as 1 of the layouts took me 3 hours just to lay out, without sticking anything down on it... and anyone that knows me, knows that's not the way I usually work....oh dear, the things I do....
But that said, I'm really really happy with the way they've all turned out!

And what else...

I know there was a layout for the word inspiration challenge for S4L... one of Busta

now isn't he just the sweetest.... yeh when he wants to be! :)

And I can't remember what else.... blame a faulty memory... overwork or whatever you will!

Ok I'm off to do some more scrapping.... I've got 7 layouts done of my 20 that I need to do for the Use your Stash challenge at Scrapboxx... yes I'm sorely in need to do a lot more than just 20, but hey... one step at a time...

Boys and Jesus

A discussion on religion was held in the car this morning on the way to work....

Kristofer: Jesus was born in a feed trough and he died on the Southern Cross.

Ok... so what are they teaching in Christian Studies at school?

Well what a busy weekend... SNC had a cybercrop on so it was a weekend of a lot of fun and laughter.. oh and of course a little scrapping!
I think I was a bit productive.... 9 layouts, 7 cards and 2 bookmarks... yep productive I would say.
But looking back at the layouts, I think there's a few of Jonathan there... he is just the most photogenic child... but I think I need to take some more pics of Kristofer.... oops.
So here are all the layouts... don't ask me which challenge they were for because really I can't remember.... it's too hard for me tonight... lol.... sorry.

So that's pretty much my week/weekend in a nutshell! The only other thing I did last weekend was my unmounted stamp storage. If I remember I might take a pic and share with you.

And if you're looking for something to do over the Anzac long weekend, then check out Scrapbooking 4 Less... there's a cybercrop happening there, with some absolutely AWESOME prizes as well as an online class.... wish I could do that one...

And finally from all reports... my little present to Jodes was well received today... pmslol....thanks Maria for delivering it for me!

and on that note... have a wonderful week!
