Highs and lows of life...

It's been a busy few weeks, with the joys of Tara's wedding which meant the family all getting together for the first time in a long time. It was good to see everyone together and it really was a beautiful wedding.

Unfortunately I had Gryfn sick before the wedding, but we all thought he was getting better. When we got home, we found he was partially paralysed. After a visit to the vet we found out Gryfn had arthritis in his spine and it wasn't looking good.
We tried him on some anti-inflammatories, trying to reduce the pain for him, but by the Thursday I had to make the heart-wrenching decision to get him put down. He really was in too much pain and as much as it broke my heart, there really wasn't anything we could do.
We can look back now and see all the signs, but at the time it was always put down to something else. Unfortunately with cats it's hard to diagnose arthritis as they mask the pain, and change their behaviours.

In the five years we had him, he was always my big beautiful baby boy. Demanding when he wanted attention, but liked to have his own space. He didn't have to always be on top of me, but usually he was curled up near me, on my desk, or the back of my chair.
He was a quiet boy, never one to make much noise, but when he jumped on you you knew about it - especially at night! And he always loved to play with his water dish - I would never know where I would find it as he always dragged it around on the floor!

This little piece of fluff called Kittisam Optimus Prime came to us at 12 weeks....

And started to grow....

Into a big beautiful Maine Coon!

February 7

Ok... I knew it would happen... and really so did you! lol... there was no way in the world I would find time to take a photo every day.
So I've decided I'm going to be honest here... and post a photo that I've taken and love or has some special meaning for me.

I'm also going to start posting the pics of my new furbaby even though I don't have him yet...

But here is the first pic I have got... he's 3 weeks old and was 300g.
It's a couple of weeks old, but hey... I had to work out how to get it off my phone!
