Cybercrop time...

Chooks is holding its' Cybercrop this week, and having a day off yesterday meant I could actually attempt and complete the challenges... woohoo!!!!!

Very inspirational challenges, and I had a lot of fun with them...

I even managed the card!!!
And with another couple of days off I'm taking advantage of it and working on a photo carousel I've got from Dusty Attic. I think it's going to take a bit of doing, especially as I've already made one mistake by painting all of the pieces first, so then I had to sand the paint off to get the pieces to fit together... oh well, live and learn I guess!

It's getting a bit busy...

So much going on right now it must be the lead up to the end of the year and Christmas.

In the next month (besides Christmas!) we have Junior State Fire Brigade Championships, Cadet wind-up dinner, friends birthday, year 7 graduation as well as working and I have a couple of design jobs on the go so not really much time for anything at all....

But on the up side, Chook Scraps had a CC a week or 2 ago which I actually managed to find some time to scrap...

This one was a scraplift (still one of my favourite photos of Kristofer!)...

Can't remember the criteria for this one but I remember it had lace, birds and a dry medium)... but a nice simple one anyway...

And then a card challenge using a new technique using salt resist. I actually had to google this to find out what it was but did have a lot of fun. The leaves on the card have been cut out from paper I used the technique on. Basically it's wet media (stains don't work well unless you're very quick!) and then sprinkled with salt. Rock salt is the best. The salt absorbs the colour and you get the 'tie-dye' look.
The leaves came up really well....

And I even managed one of the 12 weeks of Christmas challenges.
This weeks challenge included using 7 ribbon... OMG!!!! I actually had to use some of my stash of ribbon... I'm still hyperventilating... lol

So besides working, there's not much been happening. I have managed to work out a new way to hang layouts for display though and will share that next time.

Otherwise if you find a housework fairy, please send them my way... I'm in desperate need of help!

January Cybercrop

There's a cybercrop on this week over at Chook Scraps if you're looking for a kickstart into creating.
There's 4 challenges - 3 layouts and 1 card. The themes for this year is going to be sport, so to kickstart the year we have tennis (only because there's so much tennis being played right now!)

Favourites and a giveaway

This will be my final post regarding Kaisercraft being my last week on the team, so I thought I would finish off with my favourite projects from the last 12 months, and a giveaway!!!
I thought I would choose one project from each month, and sometimes it was a difficult choice as Kaisercraft have come out with some beautiful ranges in the last 12 months!!!

So let's start at the beginning....

July 2011... Little Toot and Blae & Ivy - Of course I had to go with the train frame using Little Toot!!!

August 2011... Hunt & Gather and Miss Nelly - I loved this layout I created with Hunt & Gather

September 2011... Silly Season and December 25th - This layout was something special to me... recording my Christmas memories and shows that a layout doesn't necessarily have to have a photo to record the memories.

October 2011... Bonjour and 13th Hour - I have to admit, this month was hard to pick a favourite project as I absolutely adored these 2 ranges! They worked so well on so many projects, but I have to say my Haunted House came out the winner.

November 2011... Cockadoodledoo, Merry Melody and Madame Boutique - Some more good ranges, but my favourite project was this heritage box and albums using Madame Boutique.

December 2011... On the Move and Sweet Nothings - Loved loved these ranges, but honestly I couldn't go past my birdcage and I can't wait to do the matching one...

January 2012... Hummingbird and Lil Primrose - I have to say I'm not a card maker, and that hasn't changed, but I did love this card I made using Hummingbird!

February 2012... These Days and Tiny Woods - Heritage is one of my favourite layout styles and These Days is the perfect range for it... how could I pass this layout?

March 2012... Great Southern Land, Technologic and Tiger Lily - Even though my projects were done using Great Southern Land, I had a sketch that month too which I used Technologic and I have to say the layout is one my favourites!

April 2012... Charlotte's Dream and Fine & Sunny - Yet another heritage range was released this month... the soft and pretty Charlotte's Dream! Honestly I could have picked a number of projects, but this layout is one of my favourites!

May 2012... Magnolia Grove and Rock Pool - I have to say that Kaisercraft do rock the heritage ranges and Magnolia Grove is another perfect example. I loved the soft pinks and greys in this range and was perfect for an album.

 June 2012... Check In and the Lake House - Another really hard month where I loved both ranges, and found it hard to choose just 1, but honestly who could go past my Wishing Well. I have to say it is just about my favourite project from the whole 12 months... well it runs up there along with the Haunted House!

It's been a wonderful 12 months with Kaisercraft. A lot of ups and downs, stress but also absolutely wonderful times.  I honestly wouldn't change a thing!!!

Vicki, Debbi, Michelle, Jodi, Lori, Cassie, Ann-Katrin, Pearl, Hilde, Leanne, Genevieve, Svetlana and Janna... it's been wonderful working with you and I thank you all so much for all of your support!!!
To the 2012/13 team... good luck and enjoy your time! I can't wait too see what you come up with in the next 12 months.

My last cards....

Even though Check-in is primarily a travel range of papers, you can find different ways of using these papers like I have with this card.

You can always find a touch of romance in images of Paris, and the red, black and cream colour scheme!


And what a better range to make a card for your mother with the Lake House collection....

 

This card opens up to an open centre to leave a lovely message.

It really is a very pretty range!

Introducing Magnolia Grove...

This really is a beautiful range from Kaisercraft. It has to be one of my favourites!!!
If you're looking at doing heritage layouts then this is a must!

Of course I have a full selection of heritage photos, but how could I pass up using this photo. The colours perfectly matched the papers!

 Yes it is a photo of my mother!!!



It also lends itself to beautiful cards...

I tried my hand at a tri-fold Lattic card.



And for my off-the-page project I created an tabbed album for my stamps. It won't actually hold my stamps but an index for them to make it easier to find the stamp I want for my project.

I created the little bird on the cover with air-drying clay using one of the silicon moulds I got from Moulds from Mel. She has some great moulds for a great price so check her out at MouldsbyMel.blogspot.com

I actually really do love this album, and the beauty of it is I can repurpose it into a heritage album if I like.
Gotta love those dual use creations!!!



On a sad note, tonight I completed my final project for Kaisercraft, though you won't see it for 5 or 6 weeks. I only have the computer work to do and I'm all finished.

I'm a bad blogger... in my defense... I've had lots going on!

But I'm here to share my projects for this month with the new Kaiser releases Rock Pool and Magnolia Grove.
Today I'm going share my Rock Pool projects.
This is a really fun range full of lots of cuteness, great for beach shots!!!

So my layout...

These photos were taken up in Denham a few years ago.

The papers are great for photos like this!

And my card... well in this case, I made some Pool Party invites....

It's a great range for something like that!



And my off-the-page!
I stripped off an old canvas from it's frame and then used the frame to create a 3D picture using the collectables. It was actually quite easy to create with foam layer tape.

 Add some "googly eyes" to the creatures and it's a great fun piece of art!!!!
