woohoo....!!!

Finally we're off on holidays!
They've been a long time coming but tomorrow we're off on our holidays... 2 weeks in Kalbarri and Shark Bay relaxing and not doing much else....

So on that note I'm going to leave you with some layouts I managed to get done last week....

But if you're bored you'd better head over to S4L where there's some great challenges running atm.... and this weekend there's a cybercrop on... pity I'm going to miss it, but I guess I have to make some sacrifices!!!

Cya!

OMG... I'm 40!!!

Did I just say that.... or was that someone else sneaking in here....honestly I don't feel 40... aren't I still just 30... or is that denial talking...
But I do have to admit... that life is just starting.... for us things are on track! What could be better than that... life is good!

But of course, turning 40 does come with some privileges.... I did get spoilt for one thing...
Danny organised my own plates for the 'cruiser... now if the government didn't want to rip us off on stamp duty it woulda been in my name too!!!! Bastards!!!!

And I got a Pandora!!!! woohoo.....

Ok... fine.. it's not a genuine Pandora bracelet, but most of the beads are!!! and Danny's heart was definately in the right place when he got it and for that reason and that one alone I love it... and that's the beauty of these bracelets... each one is personal!

And along with my birthday is Kristofer's...
He's the big 8 now... now where have those years gone....? But this year we also let him have a birthday party and he wanted a treasure chest cake....

This cake was actually one of the easiest I've ever made... Just a loaf cake, iced with chocolate icing, licorice strapping and the top cut and 'treasure' slipped in... easy peasy!
But he loved it.
And for his birthday he got a virtual dog like Jonathan's and he has gone for a golden retriever called Billy.

And what else... well he wanted anything remote controlled..
So what did we get him... this...

It's so real looking it's creepy... and fascinating!
Just as well it's not silent!

And in other news....
Nicholas has now finished hockey for this year and he finished on a high!!!!!
Although his team didn't make the U17 grand final, one of the teams that did were short players for the grand final, so they asked Nicholas to play... and they won!
12 years old and he's won his first U17 grand final!!!
But wait... there's more....
At the junior windup, held the week before, Nicholas was named Association Junior Fairest and Best... OMG!!! as well as receiving Most Valuable Player for his team...
His father and I are so very very very very proud of him!!!!
I just wish it wouldn't go to his head....but I guess he will learn.

And Mum and Dad were down last weekend too.. was great to catch up with them, and we will see them again in a couple of weeks on our way up to Kalbarri and Shark Bay for holidays.
I am so looking forward to that... after the last 3 months of constantly being busy, it will be great to relax for a while!
So there's only 1 week of work left... pack the camper trailer and off we go!

So onto scrapping news...
This weekend was the running of another blind challenge over at S4L...
Here are the three layouts I finally managed to get done this afternoon...

So if you're on the look out for some challenges, go and check out S4L... there's always some great challenges on the go...

I think I've managed to waffle enough now... so have a great week won't you...

Busy,busy....

It has been such a busy couple of weeks...
Unfortunately Nicholas didn't get into the Regional U13's hockey team, but he did well and only just missed out. I watched him play Saturday and noticed he was very very tired. Maybe not so much physically, but mentally. It has been a very big year for him this year, and it's still not over. But at least his name is down at WA Hockey, so next year they will look at him a little closer and maybe, just maybe he might get selected.
It doesn't matter to us though, we are very proud of him to have achieved what he has achieved.

We've also had Jonathan's birthday. He's a big 7 now... they grow up so quickly now don't they. He was a very spoilt little boy, getting a virtual pet, drawing book and pencils, new pyjamas and dressing gown for his birthday. So now we have a German Shepherd called Max...lol... sometimes I think he's a real dog the way the boys all play with him.
And yesterday Jonathan had his birthday party, and he wanted a pirate cake. So after searching high and low for ideas, we settled on a pirate boat. Surprisingly it was relatively easy to make, and looked awesome. It did take me 2 hours to make, and only 2 minutes to sink it... typical hey....
So here is the birthday boy with his cake...

and a better pic of the cake...

And while I was making it, Nicholas asked me why I went to so much trouble to make these cakes... my answer was that I thought they deserved it... mind you sometimes I doubt that the way they were all playing up for me...
So now Kristofer wants a treasure chest for his birthday party....

So today I had to run the online class at Scrapbooking 4 Less... this was my B is for Boy Acrylic Album. It went really well, and some of the girls have now finished and I hope they had fun and enjoyed doing the album.
Here is a pic of the finished album...

Shelley might still have some kits if you want one... reasonably priced too...

So what else has happened... well the washing machine decided to blow up Thursday as I was trying to get all the washing done... so yesterday morning, beside trying to get ready for Jonathan's birthday party, I had to go down and buy a new washing machine too... So I now have a Simpson, and have spent all day today trying to catch up on the washing.
Just as well the taxman was really really nice to me and gave me extra back in my tax return...

I've also done some scrapping this fortnight too...
I made up a set of little bird houses... the bigget is only about 4 and a half inches high...

Aren't they just the cutest....

And last week I got all the Olympic challenges for S4L done....

Now I can't remember what else I did so that will have to do... I do know I didn't get much done this week..

So this coming weekend I actually have a free weekend... woohoo!!! Except I need to clean the house ready for my birthday party the following weekend, and I have to drop Nicholas off for his school camp... my God.. he's going away for a week!!!!

Ok... best I be off... I have a maze album to finish... and must remember to send out some emails.... and the washing machine is about to finish too....

My first class....

is coming up in 2 weeks.... gulp!!!! Online over at Scrapbooking 4 Less. So if you're interested, it's an acrylic album, themed on the boy in your life... very bright and playful.
I will share the sneak peeks with you, and if you want to join in the fun on the day, head on over and pick up a kit.

Oh.... and I'm going to have a naughty corner for those hecklers!!!! lol

So what else has been happening... beside the housework, cleaning and yesterday was spent baking. One slice, blueberry muffins and 2 batches of biscuits, though I'm sure it will all be gone by the weekend knowing how this lot can eat!

I did managed to get a couple of layouts done for some challenges over the S4L at the beginning of the week...
A birthday challenge, bingo with a twist and the DT pack challenge...

Hmm... I've just noticed that every single one of them is one white cardstock!

But there's some Olympic challenges announced over at S4L, so if your looking for some good challenges with great prizes head on over and check them out!

And today I've been working on my kit for the DT for S4L... loving the way it's come out, but I have to wait until Jonathan's birthday party to get the photos so I can finish it.

Personally it's been an eventful week... my FIL had a suspected mini-stroke, and there was drama's getting him to Perth for scans, but at this stage he seems to be ok. We will have to wait until the results are back.
And Nicholas is heading off to Narrogin next weekend for training for selection for the Regional U13 hockey team. We are very proud of him, but it will be interesting if he actually gets selected. They play in Perth during the next school holidays when we're meant to be in Kalbarri, so we will see what happens....

And other than that, we've been flat out with people over for dinner and also going out, Danny has pulled the muscle in his back again, so he's off work, and it's just generally been busy. Next weekend is meant to be a quiet one... fingers crossed!
Have yourselves a good one won't you all!

Another week

Another month!
I've just looked back over the calendar for July and yes we were flat out all month... and the months of August and September aren't looking any better.
I think my next free weekend will be in 2 weeks... and then it's the end of September before we get another one... I think it's the weekend before we head off on holidays!
Yeh I think you could say we're busy....lol

I've done a bit of scrapping... finally finished Jonathan's Pirate album... he loves it and Kristofer and Nicholas are waiting with bated breath for me to make theirs...

And last week I did an online class with Erica Glover...
Love the layouts I did. Makes me realise just how much Jonathan has grown... especially as his birthday is only a couple of weeks away....

I do love doing Erica's classes...

So that's really all... I've done a couple of layouts for the Blind Scrapping at S4L, but my mojo has done a runner lately, I've been so uninspired.
So today I decided a change was in order, and I've tidied my scrap space, and rearranged a few things, and I feel a lot happier. I've only really put all my scrap stash together in the one spot, and hopefully it will inspire me to do some work.
But here are the 2 layouts I've done for the Blind challenges... I don't think I will get the third one done...

So on that note I think I will call it a night... and if you're looking for a challenge head on over to S4L where there are heaps of challenges being run at the moment.

And....

yep... it's another week... I think... well I'm certain it's not the same week as the last time I posted... maybe...
What if I condense everything that's happened... that might help... maybe!

Work... ok.. yeh the boss came down... and nothing happened... apparently its everyone else's fault! So I got the closest I've ever been to quitting. After talking to Danny about it, we've decided we're not going to do anything until after our holidays. Maybe things will improve... and maybe I will win Lotto this week too....

Dentist... yep, we spent Friday in Perth running around with Nicholas to the Orthodontist. And the news is... he requires a plate! That alone is going to cost us $1000, and I guess there will be extra costs they haven't told us about yet too... and in about 12 months they'll see about braces... hmmmm see previous post... I really need to win Lotto this week.... PLEASE????

Engagement Party.... well what a surprise this was... there was a reason they wanted all the family at the engagement party.... it turned into a wedding! It really was a great way of doing it.... Congratulations Carl and Stef... welcome to the family Steff!

Scrapping... what scrapping? I've barely had time to scratch myself let alone scrap! But I had to run the Blind Scrapping Challenges this weekend over at S4L, so I had to get the 3 layouts done....
So here are all 3....

And the girls have done some absolutely gorgeous layouts over at S4L...go take a look!

So other than that I've done very little... trying to catch up with the washing, cleaning the house and all the rest.
Nicholas went to Narrogin this weekend, and is due home tonight, but apparently it won't be until about 11pm! They got into the finals and lost on penalty flicks...always means it was a great game!

And finally.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANNY!!! hehehehe... he'll kill me if he ever see's this but you get that...
have yourselves a great week and pray for that Lotto win for me won't you?

STOP!

I wanna get off!!!! please.....

It's all just been way tooooooo hard this week. Work was just hell... there is literally no other word for it and I was totally surprised on Friday to see the paper actually made it to the truck and to town! That's how bad it was. I've never ever known it to be as bad as that.
But I guess the proverbial is going to thit the fan this week as the boss is coming to town on Wednesday, so I guess we will see what happens.

So, what else....
Well the Amy Butler tote I ordered hadn't shown up and they thought it was going to be another 3-4 weeks at least before they got it, so I decided to cancel my order and make my own...
so I did.... and here is the result!

It's the perfect size to take kits to a crop, and hold my cutter and any other bits and pieces I want to take.
It's also got a special pocket for my phone!

So between work and sewing my tote, I haven't done much scrapping.
I have managed to get one layout done this week... my layout for the whisper over at S4L...

And I've done my project for the August newsletter for S4L, but you will have to just wait to see that one...

In other news, Danny's grandfather turned 100 yesterday, so we had a small morning tea for him. Unfortunately he's gone really downhill since the last time I saw him, but he's at least made 100. That's an achievement in itself!

So I guess I will leave it on that note... hopefully this week will be much much better than last week.... I guess it couldn't get any worse!
