Looking for soft little girl colours, then look no further than Lil Primrose....
this range is really so cute and girly....

So... onto the good stuff...

My layout...

The little primrose girls remind me of dolls from when I was little. And no this is not a photo of me as a little girl...

And my card...

Kaisercraft have brought out a heap of stamps that match this range. They're perfect for colouring with copics but of course, I don't have any, so I tried my hand at colouring with inks and a wet paint brush. Not too bad I guess...

and my OTP....

Just as I started making this concertina album, my niece had a baby girl, so I thought this would be a perfect little gift for her.

This week I've been working on my next months projects for Kaisercraft. Must say, you're going to love the new ranges! Just yummy...

Hummingbird

Do you love bright colours?
Bright reds and aquas???

Then don't look any further than Hummingbird from Kaisercraft!

It's very bright and funky... and teamed with white those colours really do pop.

So what did I manage to create with this range....

My layout...

Loved the aqua teamed with pink.... really brought out the colours in this photo!
(hmmmm btw Sam... I didn't get any new photos! lol)

My card...

I used one of the acrylic shapes from the 13th Hour range for this as it worked it perfectly. It's easy to mix and match sometimes.
And for a card... I really like this one!

And my OTP...

This actually used to be bright pink...and when I say bright I mean it!!!!
So a coat of paint, some pieces of bright paper and it has a new lease on life!

And I think I will leave you with a pic of Sally....

And yes, she's trying to eat a brick! Don't ask me why... especially as there's a perfectly good bone on the back lawn!

I haven't forgotten.... I just haven't had anything to blog about really.

I spent last weekend rearranging my room, and looking for my mojo in the process.
And guess what??? I found him so I spent the rest of the weekend creating.

I did take photos, but........... then realised that all over my desk was secret squirrel stuff, so I couldn't share them.

Once I clean my desk up I will share some new ones... liking this new arrangement thought.

But I do have a simple sneak I can share....

Kaiser have brought out just the sweetest ranges this month....

May 2012 bring you all you wish and hope for and not too many curve balls!!!!

Ok... that's my blessing, onto some good stuff. Well really catch up from last month.
So without any further ado, here are my projects from Kaisercraft On the Move collection....

This range is just perfect for boys, even for those imperfect boy shots we all have as they can't take a photo shoot seriously now can they! lol

And then there's a full range of cards you can make. From those hard to find boy cards, to travel ones, it's all possible....

Mind you On the Move is perfect for creating a desk set for a boy of any age. I haven't given this to Jonathan yet, but I know he's eyeing it off... lol

And onto Sweet Nothings... what a beautiful range, full of birds, flowers and angels....
But whatever you do, don't think it's only for the girls...

Try a group photo or....

hmmmmm.... yes I DO believe you've seen this photo before... a few times! But when you have a particular photo that's been taken on burst, therefore several copies slightly different, that's one of those just perfect moments, you can't help but scrap it more than once!
And I do have to say... this layout is one of my favourites!!!!

The paper pad is full of papers highlighted with gold, but unfortunately this paper really does not photograph well. But it is absolutely beautiful in real life... trust me!

and finally....

Since receiving the birdcages from Kaisercraft I've been dying to alter one, especially since I moved into my new studio. This one is the first and I want to make a matching one for my wall.
You have to agree, Sweet Nothings is perfect for this one...

I have to admit though, painting the birdcage was not one of the most enjoyable aspects, but well worth it! If you want a hint, paint it not with craft paint, but get a sample pot of an all-in-one sealer/primer from your hardware store.... one coat and it's all done!
Trust me on this....

Merry Christmas

I know I've been a bad blogger, but life has held me hostage!
There's been all these good intentions, but something always got in the way.
So hopefully now that Christmas is done and dusted for another year I can get back on track.

Now I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas...

Have to admit, even though it's a lot of work, ours went well too and I've come out of it with some great stories...

The first starts Christmas Eve with 2 little boys (well I guess they're not quite so little any more), going to bed at 8.30pm.
At 10.30 one was still awake.... at 11 I figured they'd fallen asleep... wrong!
Santa filled their stockings and returned them to their rooms, and covered the youngest up with a blanket. With that he woke up. Now I'm sure he would have gone back to sleep again, except DS2 was still awake and as soon as he though Santa had left the rooms, he got up...
Ahhh... but Santa was watching... and the proceeded to remove the stockings and place them in their sleeping older brother's room, who would never wake up!
And they were informed there were no new presents under the tree...

So Santa left, but no, he wasn't fooled.... he turned out all the lights and went and sat in the lounge room where the Christmas tree was...
Not long after the youngest tiptoed out to check what was under the tree.... and Santa saw him and told him to go to bed.
Well now this Santa prepared for bed and all lights were turned off, but unknown to the youngest this Santa snuck into the lounge room and sat in the corner. Lo and behold 15 minutes later, and little boy with a torch tiptoed out to check out the tree and the next minute a voice from the darkness says "Would you like me to turn on the light so you can check there's no presents under the tree?"
And the little boy bolted back to his bed.... lol

This Santa knows these little boys and Santa's present wasn't anywhere near the tree... lol

But honestly, mum got up at 1.30am and the youngest was still up, watching a movie in his room... and then he was up at 6am!!!!!! So I have no idea how much sleep he got that night.

But the fun of Christmas didn't end there....
Of course after Christmas lunch with the family, we retired to the front yard for the annual game of cricket....
After lots of rule changes, cheating, head hunting, a lot of fun was had!
But, of course there's a but... in the middle of the afternoon a cricket bat went flying, and of course it hit my car....No broken windows... but there is now a nice little dent in the bonnet compliments of DS2.
DH was NOT happy, but as I explained to him, if it had been one of the guests he wouldn've worried about it, and at least it was one of the guests cars, or one of the windows of the house!

So yes, this Christmas has been very memorable...
the kids were ecstatic with their presents (with one jumping into my arms he was so happy!)
and I've been left with a couple of good stories to scrapbook!

And now I'm going to get back on track, I'll be back later with my kaisercraft projects from this month that I've been very slack on sharing....

I hope you've all had as much fun as I have this Christmas!

Madam Boutique

Thought I'd better drop in and share my projects for Madame Boutique...

This is a gorgeous vintage range, what works perfectly for a lot of projects.

Being such a heritage range, I really couldn't resist scrapbooking a photo of my Grandmother.
And here are some details...

I've teamed the papers with the new diecut Collectables and then added some of the roses and crochet flowers. Really Kaisercraft produce everything you could possibly want to create a layout like this!

My other project is a heritage box. This was an old tea box a friend sent me quite a while ago. I've created mini albums to go in the box that will hold details of dh's and my family trees as a permanent record for the kids.

Now those of you who went to Hyden, might have seen me playing with this box, trying to get a crackle finish. Well, let me just say the crackle finish just would not work for me... and neither did the paint!
So as a solution, I covered the sides with texture paste so I had a lovely textured finish, and added vine detail to the corners. Truely I love the way it turned out.

The albums have all been made of chipboard, and the divider pages will be printed out on the computer so I can add them to the book.

It's been a busy month for me this month, so hopefully I will be back soon with a few more shares and hopefully a tutorial!

This month Kaiser has brought out a third range... just papers and stickers, and even though at first look they are Christmas themed, the possibilities really are endless.

For example, I used the music notes side of the papers and created a mini album that is attached to a CD to showcase all of my favourite music.

This type of thing happens when you start sorting out your iPod playlist for your favourites... there's over a 1000 songs on my favourites list, so that got me to wondering which songs were special to me. Even then I found it very hard to narrow it down which means that there'll be more than 1 CD in the case... lol

Cock-A-Doodle-Doo!

I can say it's been a very very busy couple of weeks!

Kaiser projects... work... the internet going down... and to top it off I got the flu!

But here I am to share my projects for this month for one of the new ranges at Kaisercraft... Cock-A-Doodle-Doo!

This really is a fun range, great for lots of different things, especially farm projects and also layouts on our furry friends like I did!

This first layout is of Jonathan with mum and dad's old blue heeler Radar! I've had these photos sitting here for ages and these papers were perfect!

And with their new ranges, Kaiser have released diecuts. These are great value and are so easy to work with too! I couldn't resist using them on this page of Sally.

And for my off-the-page project with this range I decided to have some fun and create a 3D picture with papers and diecuts.

The diecuts are so cute it makes it so easy to create this bit of artwork!

I fell in love with this range as soon as I received it. It is just so soft and pretty and I just wanted to keep playing with it once I started!

So of course, I made something for myself for my new scrap room!

This is a tissue box cover that has been sitting here waiting for altering for quite a while (I won't exactly say how long! lol) and this range was just perfect for it.

and detail pics... of course!

I repurposed a keyring given to me of the Eiffel Tower and have used it on here. Matched the papers perfectly I think and it's a great way to re-use something.

I think these papers are going to make their way into my all-time favourite paper range!

My Haunted House...

Gotta share this...

I so totally love this. It is one of my most favourite projects ever and it was so much fun to make....

The size of this house was all determined by the gates so it's actually larger than the seasons music box houses I made.

And yes, of course there are detail pics... lots of them!

Everything bar the fence and gate and bats have been made from scratch. It really was a lot of fun working out how to get that real haunted house look.
Though my oldest ds doesn't think it's haunted enough... teens!

I had an absolutely awesome time in Hyden!!!!

It was fantastic to get away and teaching wasn't quite as scary as I thought. I'm still not a public speaker though... I do so much better in just small groups... very very small groups...

I did take the camera... but only took a couple of photos... am I bad or what!!!!

So onto Bonjour... this has to be one of my all time favourite ranges... it's just so gorgeous!

I did this layout of my niece with a photo taken on her birthday when she was staying with us. She's turning into such a lovely young lady.

And spooky 13th Hour...
This range is sort of Halloween, but not really. There's a lot of layouts that can be done from this range, especially for boys!!!!

So first up we have the Harry Potter layout, from when I took the boys to the last Harry Potter movie!

And my teenage boy layout... well he's not really a teenager, but close enough! And he certainly looks like one!

Definately some versatile and yummy ranges! But if you want to see more you will have to head to the Kaisercraft blog as I'm off to retreat tomorrow so won't be able to share my cards or otp until next week... trust me... you want to see the otp!!!

Scrapping up a storm

This is what unlimited time can do... and I've been having a ball!!!!

I'm putting some entries into the show this year, and there's a new section in scrapbooking... double page on Esperance.
So I've been playing with doubles using the photos I took out at Lake Monji the other day!

I have to say... I absolutely LOVE these photos! So peaceful...

And the wildflowers are all out...

And because I love heritage, I had a play. My biggest problem with these photos is trying to date them.

I've also made a frame using the gorgeous Bonjour range. Told you I'm totally in love with this range. It's on my all-time favourite list!
I've used one of the frames from Kaisercraft, painted then used crackle paint, then inked. Gives a lovely soft feel, that matches the papers.

And I couldn't resist using one of the Prima Resins I recently acquired. I'm going to have acquire more I think... they are just gorgeous!

I have a mini album to share too, but will do that in a couple of days....

Being on holidays has given me time to just play with my scrapbooking...
and here are some layouts I've had fun playing with last week!

The photo on this layout I took somewhere between Northam and Corrigin. There was a heavy fog laying around, so I pulled the camera out while we were driving and had a play.

Sometimes you get the most beautiful of photos!

This photo is a favourite of mine. I'd taken Nicholas to go and take some photos of the sunset over Esperance bay and we went to the Port Authority Beach. It was so still and the light was beautiful. This was taken without the use of a tripod, but it's so clear!

I used scraps of paper for this one.

I'm very lucky in that I have a disk of heritage photos of Esperance. I have them all printed and ready to scrap when I have inspiration. I just wish I knew when some of them were taken!
This layout I wanted to try some misting on chipboard.

And this final double layout was a just because layout of my favourite baby boy!

He's helping mum make the bed!!!

And cause I'm a sneaky lil devil... lol... I'm going to share a sneak pic of one of my Bonjour projects for Kaisercraft....

Chooks Retreat CC

Chookscraps had a small cybercrop last week for all of us who couldn't attend the retreat in Collie.
There were three challenges set and I go the 2 layout ones done.

The theme of the retreat was bridesmaids, so they chose the movie 27 Dresses for the theme of the cc...

So the first challenge had journalling in a shape, the word Yes included and 27 of something. My something was 27 hearts and this is my layout.

And the second challenge was a sketch. This this piece of paper from the new Kaisercraft range Bonjour fitted the sketch perfectly with only a little embellishment!

I am totally in love with the Bonjour range... it's just so very pretty, who can resist!

A modern Christmas...

My last project for September for Kaiser was a modern Christmas Tree.
The idea was suggested to me when I got my boxes from Kaiser so I ran with the idea and this is what eventuated...

The tree was painted green, and then stamped in silver with the stamp from the Silly Season range.
I then spent quite a bit of time making the presents for the base of the tree... they were actually quite fiddly but worth it in the end.

And yes, my friend is getting the tree for her Christmas table as a thank you for the idea!

I've been doing a lot of creating this week while on holidays, some I can share and will over the next week or so, but some I can't yet.
But rather than share a project with you, I thought I might leave you with a couple of teasers of one of my projects I've done for Kaisercraft using the new 13th Hour range.
And I'm really sorry (not) but you won't see this project until the end of the month! lol

Plan for Christmas!

One of my projects for September was a Christmas Planner using the gorgeous December 25th range.
I can use this one for years to come, as the tags can be reprinted, and the ones that get used can be used for journalling on scrapbook layouts... win win all round!

On the front of the planner I've used some Tim Holtz bits and pieces and the new Kaisercraft Transparency clocks to complement the papers.

I used the Kaisercraft planner album, but as it only had 3 pages, I decided to enlarge those pages with fold-outs with pockets. That way I can also hide Christmas Gift lists... lol

I've gotten ahead with my Christmas card making (not that I usually make many) but it was hard to resist with the December 25th range from Kaiser... Love love this vintage range if I didn't tell you before!!!!

The Christmas picture papers make it so easy to whip up some cards....

And of course not to forget Silly Season!
I made a couple of gift card holders for Christmas for my nieces. The colours of this range were perfect for the girls!

I've been rearranging my studio (those that know me know that this is a common occurance!!!) so I will have to take some more photos... or maybe I'll wait for take 5!
Meanwhile I might go back to play with the divine gorgeousness of the new range Bonjour!!!

It's Christmas at Kaiser

and the blog has been down... ruddy technology!!!!

But it seems to be back up now so thought I would share with you some layouts I've created using the new releases for September... just in time for Christmas!

This first layout is using the December 25th range. Gotta love the vintage colours of this range... right up my alley!
And as I don't have a lot of Christmas photos, I decided to do a journal layout remembering pieces from childhood Christmases!

And the other range is Silly Season. And of course with a name like that it's all bright colours - perfect for Christmas!

I will have more to share later in the week!

I also have to say thanks to all who have left comments on my blog. Yes I'm loving my new studio... there's plenty of room, and it's a nice quiet place to concentrate when I really need to!

I got a please so here are the version 1 photos... lol.
I still have tweaking to do, and there's a couple of things still to be done, but generally this will be it for a little while...

So here goes...

Now, behind the shelves I have put the freezers, so this is where I want the false wall to go. DH is suggesting we want to take out the rollerdoor altogether, and put in a massive window...
I do like the little storage area though, where I can hide empty boxes and other stuff and it's a good spot for the chest freezers with easy access. What do you think?

This is shot from the shelves towards the back wall.

The sewing machine is on the desk, but I will probably store it under the desk under the window.
I need to get a larger piece of vinyl to cover the 2 trestle tables, and piece of carpet for the floor. I love the foam mats, but the chairs will cut into them, so I will get a piece of carpet to protect it.
I think the table will be big enough to have a few friends over the scrap don't you think?

Here is the set of shelves holding most of my stuff... there is almost a whole shelf empty now... I might just have to rectify that.

Looking up the wall from the french doors. I got dh to put the shelf unit from the old window on the wall for me.

Along the back wall I have my old cutting desk back (this can hold layouts for display or while I wait for something to dry), and the sets of drawers have all of my sewing stuff, the stuff for the knk, spare stationery, etc, etc, etc...

And finally, my painting desk...
this is new (well the desk has been out in the shed!) but I now have somewhere I can paint, emboss, spray or whatever messy all in the one spot! and leave it to dry.

I still have a few things I want to do...
I have hooks in the wall... just got to do the work to hang there, and I want to get a cane chair to sit in the corner, so I have somewhere peaceful to sit and read.

And the best thing... I can shut the door and have some peace and quiet when I need to!

and nothing to share....

It's been a very very busy week.... My scrap room was all packed up before last weekend for some french doors to go in leading from the old dining room into the garage, right where I used to be set up to scrap!

I now have a hole in my wall, but not doors (thanks Bunnings!) they will be going in next week.

This was what it looked like to begin with. The freezers are staying in the garage, but I've moved them up near the roller door. But at the least, they're easier to access now!

But not having the doors hasn't stopped me from moving in though... lol

I still have heaps to do like the curtains, and dh needs to hang a set of shelves for me, but at least I've been able to scrap and get some projects finished I was half way through.

So I'm going to wait until I'm all finished with the set up and then I'll post good photos of the whole setup!

Spread your Wings

I did something different for my off the page for Miss Nelly this month.
I combined both the 10" frame and one of the mannequins to create a frame for a quote.
It took a bit of fiddling but I'm happy with the results....

Materials Used:
Kaisercraft 6.5″ frame (SB2114), Kaisercraft Dress Form (SB122), Miss Nelly Paper Pad (PP849), Miss Nelly Her Habits (P713), Wooden Flourish Wings (FL346), Pearl Strip Champagne (PL503), Rub ons Timeless Treasures (RB945), Paper Blooms Coconut (F640), Paper Blooms Cranberry (F638), Mini Paper Blooms Aubergine (F654), White Lace (E926).
Other products: white flowers, leaves, tulle, paint, ink, ribbon, kindy glitz, transparency, grunge board wings.

I wanted a frame that would be able to sit on a shelf or my desk, so I combined both the 6.5″ frame and one of the free-standing dress forms.
Wanting a shabby chic look, I painted the frame and form with a pale pink, then a top coat of white. Sanding all of the edges gives a distressed shabby feel to the project.
To get the full pleated skirt for the dress form, join 2 pieces of paper from the paper pad, and concertina it, flaring the bottom. The Miss Nelly paper pad has a lot of small detailed papers that work perfectly for projects like this.
I added tulle to the bottom of the skirt to add a strip of colour and hid the top of the pleats with a spray of flowers, ribbon, and tulle, finished with a butterfly rub on on a scrap piece of transparency, folded in the middle and kindy glitz. Then added some flourish rub ons and pearls for detail.
The quote in the frame has been printed onto transparency, and although this one is designed to be permanent, it would be a simple solution to not seal the top of the frame and be able to change the quote as your moods and circumstances change, or even add a photo.
Inking the glossy pink pattern paper on the front of the frame with white brings out the pattern and softens the bright pink.
Flowers were added to the base of the dress form, and the top right corner of the frame completes the visual triangle and finishing with a bit of kindy glitz to the edges of the flowers leaves adds sparkle.

Just a quick post to share some projects using Miss Nelly...

I had fun playing with the cards... I really love using the papers that come with the quotes as a centrepiece for cards. It makes them really quick and easy to make and for someone who is not a cardmaker, they're great inspiration!

And here is another layout I did using this range...

I've been doing a lot of scrapping these last couple of weeks but can't share sorry. All DT work for next month for Kaiser (you will absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the new ranges!) and I've been doing the samples for my classes at Hyden... that's been a lot of fun!!!!
But don't you just hate it when you cut a piece of paper wrong and you only have the 1 piece!!!!!

This range was really up my alley... the greens and browns suit boys perfect, but that's not the layout I did...
On the way back from Perth recently I played with the the camera in the car, and took some photos I'm really happy with.
One of them with the photo I used in this layout, The Long Road Home.
And yes it is a long road too...

I think I will be putting this range through its paces when I get more time... !

I've been doing a lot of creating but only some I can share....
I've been working on projects for Kaisercraft for September. Trying to get ahead of things but somehow it doesn't seem to be working... go figure!
I've got 3 projects done, just have to get 4 more done, and then my classes for the retreat... I'm so excited about it...just have to get the work done and I'm nervous but I really can't wait!

But I have done some layouts I can share...

The first is the current round of the Chooks Amazing Race... this time we're visiting Vietnam, and we had to use the colours of red and yellow and follow a sketch.
This is my take using Basic Grey Ambrosia...

The photos were taken when we were in Carnarvon a couple of years ago.

And Chookscraps is also running a cybercrop this weekend, so I decided to have a break from dt commitments, and have some fun...
This month's theme is the movies of Dustin Hoffman for the first 2 challenges, one being Rainman and the other Kung Fu Panda...

This one was for Rainman and had to include a talent, numbers (but not the date), hearts/spades/clubs or diamonds, and 2 flowers. Jonathan's talent... breaking hearts!

This one was for Kung Fu Panda.... 50% black and/or white (for the panda), 5 things (I've got 5 kids in the photo), the word "nothing" somewhere on the layout and either a chinese symbol, or word in another language.
I've kept my layout very very simple, but I really love it!

And the third challenge was a scraplift from one of the winners of the rounds of the Chooks Amazing Race.

I've been quiet and haven't shared any more projects, but it's been a busy week.

I travelled to Perth again on the weekend with the boys so Nicholas could try out for the State U15 hockey team. He missed out on the squad, but he's really happy with the way he played and as far as we're concerned he's a champion.
Now he can spend the rest of the season concentrating on his local games, instead of worrying about travelling to Perth every week for training.

Because we were away, I haven't had a chance to do any scrapbooking, but I do have a Miss Nelly layout to share with you that appeared on the Kaisercraft blog last week.
We've had problems with the blog and uploading of photos so hopefully it will get fixed and all will be back on track shortly and you will see more gorgeous projects from the girls using Miss Nelly and Hunt and Gather!

DS1 has been selected for the final trial for the U15 State Hockey Team!!!!
That is an absolutely awesome achievement... being one of the top 40 players in his age group!!!!
We are so very very proud of him....

I just had to share that little bit of news....

But on the scrapping front I will be back tomorrow with some fun using the new Kaisercraft releases Hunt and Gather and Miss Nelly!

Sorry I've been quiet this week but I've been working on some new projects for Kaisercraft.

They've got 2 new ranges being released next week.... Miss Nelly and Hunt and Gather....and lots of new off the page items and embellishments too!

So I've been busy getting them done. I've finished 5 of my 6 projects... just got one more to do...

But something I can do is give you a couple of sneak peeks... but only if you're good... lol

Winter...

As some of you are aware, after I finished my winter house for the set of music boxes, I decided I didn't like it... lol

So I've now redone it...

I liked the blue one I did for my niece, so went with the same colour scheme for winter...

And I did a little tweaking with the other houses and now I can say that I've finished the set completely!

I'm happy with the final result... what do you think?

It was a cold and wet weekend so I pulled out a Tim Holtz Configurations Printer Tray I had here and worked on that.
I really love the way it came and it's full of lots of little bits and pieces...

I love these as they are so flexible and you can have bigger spaces if you want, like I did for the title.

And of course with such a detailed project, there's lots of detail photos... lol

And with the boxes I didn't use in this tray and also the box, and the cover from the box, I can actually make a third one.
Will have to think on the them of it though!

Family memories

I'm back with the tutorial for my Blae and Ivy Family Memories photo display.

When I saw these papers, I thought I would do up a frame to hold photos of my childhood. I don't have a lot of photos, so the ones I have are fairly precious and these papers work beautifully with them.

So here we go....

Family Memories Display Frame

Products used: Six Frame Photo Display (SB2111); Blae & Ivy Paper Valley (P699); KC Black Paint (KC031); Blae & Ivy Clear Stamps (CS781); Blae & Ivy Journal Tags (JT623); KC Wood Flourishes Lampost (FL325), Leaves (FL303), Butterflies (FL341); KC Paper Blooms Iceberg (F630), Honey (F628); KC Pearl Flourish (PL515); KC Rubons Life (RB903), KC Mini Alpha (MA505); KC Lace (EM927)
Other products used: Embossing Ink, Embossing Powder, Hat Pin.

Glue the frame to the backboard and paint it black. When the paint is dry sand the top of the frame, including all edges to give them a slight distressed look.
Stamp leaves randomly around the frame with embossing ink and emboss with a gold embossing powder. I used a gilded embossing powder to give a distressed look.
Cut Blae & Ivy Valley into the separate pieces. Choose which pieces you want to use in the rectangles on the frame, trim, then distress and ink all edges. Glue into place.
Sand edges of your photos and decide on the placement. I inked the edges of 2 of the journal tags and used them in the 2 bigger frames, one behind the photo and the other behind the title.
When you’re happy with the placement of your photos stick down. I placed a quote in the bottom left hand frame.
Glue the lampost to the bottom left hand corner of the frame, and the leaf flourish to the top right hand corner of the frame. Add one of the pearl flourishes to the top of the leaf flourish. Add your title to the top frame, and finish with a pearl flourish under it.
Finish the frame off with pieces of lace and paper blooms and any other embellishments you might like to use.

As promised here is another creation for Kaisercraft. This is the Little Toot Train Frame. Loved this... so much fun! And perfect with more photos of my great nephew and his great grandfather.

I'm going to be the first to admit, I'm not a card maker.
But I love these cards... I think they're nice and simple, but elegant, especially the Blae and Ivy ones.

I was so lucky as just before these papers arrived, dh's nephew decided to come to town and visit with his new baby boy, so the photos were perfect to match in with this collection.

Took the boys to see the last Harry Potter tomorrow and loved it!
The effects were awesome! The boys loved it and I loved it... would definately go see it again!

Can't wait for it to come out on DVD now so we can have a Harry Potter movie marathon!!!

Blae & Ivy Layouts

I loved Blae and Ivy... the soft blues and greens work perfectly with heritage layouts, especially wedding ones.

It worked even better when I went through my heritage photos and found these photos of my aunt and uncle's wedding... their wedding colour was soft blue and with the green background in the photo they were perfect!

The flowers and leaves on the sticker sheet were perfect for these photos as well, and I curled the petals on the flower to give it some dimension.

Also you don't have to use a full sticker either, especially the journal ones. I trimmed the side off this one to use as a base for this detail...

Also in the Blae & Ivy range is a gorgeous diecut page with gloss flowers. This is such a pretty piece of paper, that I couldn't resist using it with a photo of my mum taken in around 1963.

To emphasise the diecut paper, I added some lace to the top right corner. Now I saw this on a layout on the internet a few weeks ago, but I can't remember where. So please forgive me for not acknowledging you.

Also included in this range is some gorgeous clear stamps. The leaf stamp is going to be perfect for a lot of projects I think... I always have trouble locating leaves to add to my flowers... won't have that problem any more!

Add a little bit of detail, lace and journalling tag and you have a simple and elegant layout!

It's going to be a nervous week...

This coming week my first projects for Kaisercraft are being uploaded on the blog.
I wonder if I will have any fingernails left by the end of the week. It's funny, but you don't think of the pressure until it's you being the one on show.
This first one will be the hardest I think.
The past week has seen some gorgeous creations from Ann-Katrin, Hilde and Jodi. So if you've missed them head on over and check them out.

I have managed one layout this week. I had to set the challenge for the Challenge the Design Team. Of course I couldn't get away without doing the layout myself.
As I had forgotten about it (oops!), I set something easy... Non-person layout, Pattern Paper OVER a year old, and 3 things not made for scrapbooking!
So today I managed to get around to doing my layout.

This is a photo taken when we went to Carnarvon a couple of years ago. This was taken on our day trip out to the Kennedy Ranges.
So that takes care of the non-person layout, then the paper is from Heidi Swapp, and I'm certain I've had it for a couple of years.
And the non-scrapbooking items... buttons, staples and the tag.

In the next round of the Chookscraps Amazing Race!

So our criteria is...

-Colour blocking for cobblestone streets
-Large circle (more than 6 inches) for stone henge
-Number/s in the title to represent the tendency of the monachy to have numbers attached to their names
- It is cold in England so you need to be prepared to button up those jackets. Include at least two buttons on your LO.

So here's my layout...

I got my inspiration for this one from a Tim Holtz paper pad. All I had to do was cut out the squares....
Then I pulled out the sewing machine and stitched a big circle in the middle, and then decided to stitch a border.
And to bring the circle out I chalked it... worked perfectly!
I couldn't decide where to add the buttons, so thought I would just add them to the patchwork...

and here's a closer look at the title and sticker quote I used

Tomorrow I start my 12 months with Kaisercraft...

This is going to be one hell of a rollercoaster ride... but it's going to be a hell of a lot of fun!

So as promised I thought I would share a few sneaks of the new ranges coming out in July for Kaiser...

The first is perfect for the little boys in your life... called Little Toot...

It's full of all those fun things little boys love and lots of bright colours too!

The second range is called Blae and Ivy...

It's a very pretty range of soft blues and greens...

Just a quick post with my layout from the Chookscraps Cybercrop.

This is challenge 3... the blind scrapping challenge...

It's a busy weekend...

and it's cold and wet so I'm scrapping away!
Which really is just as well, as I've got a lot to do! lol...

First on the to-do list this weekend was the challenges for the Chook Scraps Cybercrop...
And this month the feature artist is the yummy Johnny Depp... now there's a teen idol that's aged well!

So the challenges are all based on a couple of his movies...
The first being Pirates of the Caribbean. We've spent the last month trying to guess the criteria and beside 1 we never even came close!
So with the criteria being "Walking the Plank" we had to have a piece of rectangular paper placed horizontally, fabric for sails (I used felt!), Pearls for the Black Pearl (we guessed that one!) and the final criteria was Tattoo's or rubons...

So I went bright... bright... bright!

The second challenge was Charlie & the Chocolate Factory...

And the criteria was... A photo that features something more than 60 years old or a photo over 5 years old; A conjunction in our title; and for the chocolate... two tones of brown and white and finally we had a list we could choose a criteria from that represented the children... so I chose small lettering in the title for Mike.

Trust me... the photo is definately OVER 5 years old! lol

The third challenge is a blind scrapping challenge so I can't upload that until Wednesday at the earliest.

Not sure if I will get to the card challenge... I have so much to do.

I've also managed to get the Chooks Amazing Chooks Race layout done today as well.
This round we're heading off to Ireland, so the criteria has come from the name of the island Eire...
E - Envelope
I - Inking
R - Rhyming in the title
E - Embossing.

So after some false starts here is my layout...

A Change...

They say a change is as good as a holiday, so I changed my blog template....
It's winter and cold, though not raining today, so thought I would add dreams of a tropical sunset...where its nice and warm! lol

And along with that I've added links to Kaisercraft and also links to the 2011/12 Kaisercraft Design Team. Go have a look... they're work is just amazing!!!

And on that I'd like to thank everyone who supported me and congratulated me on getting onto the team.
The last 2 weeks have been an absolute rollercoaster ride with the design team and Nicholas with his hockey and braces. I'm hoping now things will start to settle down.

Nicholas got his braces on today and from all reports, he's fine and now on his way back from Perth with his father. It was a boys trip...
Countryweek is a week away for him, then Regional Championships in two and a half weeks...then hockey might just slow down a little...

And the Design Team... well I'm just getting my head around that and organising myself, but I'm nearly there.
I got my box of goodies this week and started creating... though I can't share just yet, but it will be soon... the ranges are just gorgeous!!!!

It is going to be a busy 12 months but it's going to be a lot of fun!!!

It was my niece's birthday in April and I told her I would make her one of the houses with a music box in it for her birthday.
After finally tracking down a music box, this week I got her house done.
She wanted it like the Autumn house I made, but I made her a blue one.
And this one plays Wish Upon a Star.... it seemed appropriate.

And here are some detail pics...

I hope she likes it (it will be travelling to her this weekend), but I know I can post it here as I know she doesn't visit here... so shhhhhh.....

And the other frosty morning taking some rubbish out I spotted this red rose covered in dew... so I just had to pull out the camera and getting a couple of shots...

My Projects

For Round 2 of the Kaisercraft Design Team selection, we were sent papers from the Velvet Ensemble range to create a layout.
These papers are just gorgeous... so rich in colour... and perfect for Heritage Layouts...

And to me it screamed 1920's, so of course the first place I headed was my box of heritage photos and found this one of my Grandfather's sister taken in the 1920s... perfect.!

and here are some detail pics...

We were also sent a trinket box and the pretty papers from Pink Gelato...
This range is very sweet, just perfect for the trinket box.

I painted the box antique white, and edged it all in gold paint. I wanted some more gold detail, so I stamped the papers with a script stamp and embossed the papers I used with a gilded gold embossing powder. I love the random look...

and of course, the detail photos...

And of course, me being me... I couldn't stop playing with the papers when I started and created another layout with Velvet Ensemble...

I can't thank everyone who encouraged me enough... you're all wonderful!

The Riches of Morocco....

That's where this round of Chooks Amazing Race has headed.... and the joys of the city of Marrakech...

This one was a detour round, so we had a choice...
I decided to go with No1....and this was the criteria...

Create a double LO incorporating the following:-
~ A crown (for the kingdom)
~ 7 pp's (for the festival of seven saints)
~ Use red as a feature colour, but other colours may also be used (for the Red City)

and my layout...

This layout is of my grandparents. As I was looking through photos I found these three with the same pose throughout various times in their life. I'm glad I've got some of these memories and photos and a lot of photos were destroyed.

Configuration Box

I've finally finished my Tim Holtz Configuration box! woohoo...

It was a lot of work as there's lots of little details, but it was a lot of fun! And I learnt a few things on the way... especially that some things will NOT go where you want them to!

All the paper that has been used on this is from Tim Holtz, and so is a lot of the bits and pieces. Other pieces I've found here and there...

When I first looked at it, I decided it needed to work to a theme, so I decided this one would be about me and my life...

So enjoy...

Three little boxes...
Wife... Gardening... and Photography...

Can you guess the box on the left... yes Mother! The boys had a ball 'distressing' the little car!
And on the right is my other hobby I love... reading!

The top box is Daughter... which is why it has my birth date...
And the box below is my job... at the paper. I just want to find one little thing to finish it off but it will take time... a 5 cent with the date 1990 on it... why that date... it was the year I started at the Express!
And no... don't go there!

This one represents the family history and the journey it has taken me on...

A simple box, representing friendship...

This little box represents my scrapbooking and papercraft I do...

This little corner represents the sewing that I enjoy doing. The wooden cotton reel and lace actually belonged to my nanna and I got a few bits and pieces like this when she died. It's a good keepsake, especially as sewing and craft work is something that has happened in our family for generations.

This is the top of the box. I wasn't sure if I wanted to add anything here, but it just didn't look finished, so I used a Tim Holtz door knob and a rubon. I wanted to keep it simple.

I wanted the centre of the box to have something inspirational, so I decided on this little saying.... Let your dreams grow wings and fly...

It's been a busy time here and will be for the next few weeks with Nicholas getting braces and trips away for hockey...
Life just gets more interesting I think!

Oh, and Gryfn has a new sleeping place... the top of the little bookcase...

I think he fits... just! lol

Chookscraps Amazing Race

We're off to South Africa for this round of the Amazing Race...

So with that we had a lovely range of criteria...

Paper rolling for borewors (a South African rolled sausage)
Twigs or branches for the thatched roofs in the villages
Cream flowers (for the ivory tusks of the elephant)
Metal for the safari jeeps

And here is my layout....

I've been so waiting to use the dusty attic tree... and the criteria matched it perfectly.
And I love this photo... taken at Rocky Pool in Carnarvon... it was such a peaceful place.

Chookscraps are holding their monthly cybercrop this weekend with the yummy George Clooney and his movies selected for the theme.

So the first challenge had the theme of the Ocean's 11, 12 and 13 and we had to use layers, metallic, something shiny and a playing card.
I've used Bo Bunny papers for this one.

The next challenge was based on Batman and Robin, so we had to do a layout on someone who inspires us, use 2 photos, Superhero colour scheme, and a mask.
So I chose Nicholas for the inspiration, and the superhero I chose for the colour scheme was Captain America with the red, blue and white. I even used stars... lol

The card challenge was to use a rectangle, circle and a bracket shape...

And finally we had the sketch challenge...

And this layout was using the new Websters Pages Spring Market range... straight yumminess!!!!
And the layout is of my Nanna... I will always remember her bright colourful gardens, so this range was just perfect to use.

Otherwise I've been working on the stuff for Round 2 of the Kaisercraft Design Team. Really happy with what I've done, but sorry no can share at this stage!

I've also been looking at my winter house and I believe it really does need something else... it just doesn't seem finished, so the thinking cap is on!
But while I'm thinking I've started work on my Tim Holtz Configuration box... this is a lot of fun and I will share when I finish...

DS1 was today selected for the Great Southern Regional hockey team.... woohoo... so proud of him!
He's worked so hard for it and now succeeded.... woohoo....

Ok... onto more mundane things... I've finally finished my seasons houses...

So without further ado... here is Winter...

I have some tweaking to do, but overall I'm happy with them!

Now to just find another music box to make one for a present... can't find one locally any more! typical Esperance!

Happy Mother's Day...

it must be somewhere.... all my kids can do is fight and argue and hurt each other!
I just want some peace and quiet....

oh well... I can dream!

But I've spent the weekend doing more journals for the shop of course...
Baby boy and baby girl ones...

I think these will be the last of the ones I do as I'm over them at the moment. I've also done some general ones, and some travel ones, but they are all A5, these ones are A6, except for 2.

I think it's time for some other projects now I have my snow...

Yesterday I caught Gryfn glued to the front door... and why...

because of this little chappy and quite a few of his mates playing in the roses around the front door... lol

This pic was taken through the flyscreen along with this one I love of one of the roses...

I think it came out pretty well...

Oh.. and Gryfn went to the vets the other day for his annual checkup and needles, so we got him weighed. He weighs in at a respectable 6.8kg which is almost 15lbs. Still got some growing and filling out to do.

We are so proud of him and the team... especially as 6 members of the team played U15's in the week before so they did fantastic!

We decided we'd have a quiet weekend, so I decided to make a start on the carousel I wanted to make.
I love the way it came out... very pretty....

And yes, it has one of the music boxes concealed in it and it plays When You wish Upon a Star... it screamed carousel to me... lol
Unfortunately no, it doesn't turn... I tried, but I couldn't figure it out... everything I tried didn't work. But you can turn it by hand if you want to.

And yes... it is all handmade...

and how long did it take to make.... lots of time!!!!! but it was worth it!

I've finished my Childhood Album.
Well actually I finished it a few weeks ago, but I was going to do the journalling. Since then I've decided I might put the stories I remember into it's own companion album as this is pretty full. Well very full actually!
I will have to add a little journalling like dates, etc but I might just add them to the pages. Most will be guessed at as I don't have definate dates.
But that was the times I lived in. These photos were all taken off slides and go from 1968 through till I was about 8, so 1976.
I do have some more photos but not many. A lot of photos just weren't taken. I do have some school photos (horror of horrors) so I might add them to the companion album with the stories as most of the things I remember are from this time period, not from when I was little.

So here you go... a blast from my past!

Oh and the papers I've used are all from Basic Grey... I've had some 6x6 pads sitting here for ages and got to use them.

It's another chooks cybercrop this weekend so of course I'm scrapping layouts.... I am meant to be doing journals....I'm decorating them on commission to sell in the shop. there'll only be 6 so I will share a pic when I'm all finished....

but onto the layouts...

Challenge 1

Alliteration in the title; stitching in some form either hand drawn, rubons or stitched; a photo smaller than 6x4 and distressing.
I'm still thinking this layout needs something but I'm not sure...

Challenge 2

Add something to the photo (I used rub ons); combination of flowers, buttons or brads (I used flowers and buttons); Black and brown colour scheme; and have something partially hidden.

Challenge 3

And this one we had to scraplift one of the lovely Niq's layouts as she is guest dt member this month at Chooks. I ended up lifting her challenge 2 layout, but I don't have a link.... but you can see it here...

Can you tell I'm really loving the Bo Bunny new Timepiece range.. perfect for heritage layouts.

In Round 2 of the Chookscraps Amazing Race competition....

And I decided to take advantage of a free afternoon and scrapped!!! woohoo...

This round's criteria was... Black cardstock background for the base, a bird as a feature on the page and we had an image of a Maori mask to use as inspiration for the doodling.

But I've decided to apply to the Kaisercraft Design Team. I do love their products, especially otp stuff and being an Australian company all the better...

Part of the criteria is a dedicated blog post containing examples of my work...

So without further ado here we go...

Here are some layouts using the Kaisercraft paper ranges...

Even though these layouts aren't using Kaisercraft papers, I still love them and think they show some more of my style (though I still don't know what my style is...lol)

But I especially love the home decor products at Kaisercraft... and even though I've used other papers, I still love them...

I think this is really going to be a long post... here are some projects I've done using the Kaisercraft ranges with detail pics....

Namely my Advent Calendar... I so love this one!

And then there's my E-reader cover which uses Kaisercraft Loire Valley and some of their new flowers...

And of course one of my music boxes... even though it's made with different materials, there's still a Kaisercraft wooden signpost! The autumn music box has one of their trees on it... I think something of Kaiser ends up on everything...

And then here's a mini album I did using the Kaisercraft Esperance range... appropriate really as I live in Esperance!

There's so many pages so I've only shown a couple...

And cards... I'm not much of a card maker to be honest, but I have dabbled but here is one using a kaisercraft pattern paper background...

I think that's a fair representation of my work.... so wish me luck...

A new cover

I broke the hinge of my previous cover for my kobo e-reader so today I decided to make a new one.

This is made of chipboard and is basically a box with a flap that ties down.

I've got a clip on it which will hold the synopsis of the books I've got. It's very hard sometimes to choose what to read if you haven't read it before on the kobo's as you have to open the books or relook it up on the web...
So I print them off so I have a record of them....

We're all at the airport getting our passports stamped and jumping on the plane for round 1....

Wondering what I'm talking about....?
Then you'd better go here and sign up.... and find all about it!!!!

So with Round 1 up I have a layout to share...

As we were flying out we had to have a baggage allowance and this round it was ... 4 photos, 4 pattern paper, 4 flowers, 4 ribbons/lace, 4 alpha styles, 4 chipboard, 4 brads/bling, 4 tools... unlimited adhesive and ink.
This meant we couldn't add anything more and that included no cardstock or paint!
So out of my allowance I used... 1 photo, 4 pattern paper (2 used in the punched flowers and handcut butterflies), 4 flowers (1 large cream, 3 red roses), 2 ribbons/lace, 1 alpha style, 2 chipboard (the gates and flourish), 3 tools (sandpaper, distresser, punch).

and to celebrate I would like to present the Autumn Music Box House...

(ok not really an autumn song, but it was chosen by default...)

I never had any clear idea for this one up until I really started thinking about working on it...
We don't really have a fall as such with the falling leaves, etc, here in WA, so it wasn't until I started thinking about autumn being the season of harvest for fruit and vegies that I came up with this idea.
The apples and pumpkin were a lot of fun to make, messy to paint, but turned out well I think.

the hardest bit was the fence... I was going to do a brick fence but it just would not work, so I neded up with a picket fence again... a bit different to spring though and this one has a letterbox...

I still have to work out where to put the name of the house somewhere but... any suggestions?..

unless I put a sign on the fence....

anyway I have scrapped besides my houses... Chookscraps had a cc last weekend so managed 3 layouts and a card

And when I finished those I felt like scrapping some more... the mojo musta been home.... so I tackled some of the march monthly challenges which I hadn't done yet.

And today I've been working on my next music box house... Autumn!

The boys didn't know this song... now they do! I actually made them read it from a book of Banjo Patterson I have!

It goes with my summer music box house... and what's more summer than an Aussie Summer!

The roof and the windmill were the most fun. A lot of work but it was worth it. I couldn't get a windmill locally so I printed out a pic, traced it onto chipboard and then handcut it.
To get the rusted tin look, I painted the roof and the windmill silver, sprayed with leather glimmermist, dabbed with copper and black then wiped them off, then sprayed again with the glimmermist.
I think it was well worth the work.

The flowers might be a bit much, but I like the colour... what do you think?

I few weeks ago I bought some little mechanic music boxes, so i decided I wanted to scrap some boxes for them.
As I have 5 of them, I've decided 4 of them will go into themed houses... the seasons.
I finished the first this week (well most of it was done a week ago but I had some final touches to do) and here it is....

This one is Spring and plays Greensleeves...

And here are some detail pics...

Everything has been hand made... well the lightpost/sign is a kc one and the tree is a branch, but everything else I've made.
I'm very happy with this one....

Next on the cards will be Summer and Waltzing Matilda!

This one is based on Groundhog Day, so the criteria was 6 photos/pattern papers or flowers (I went with photos!), a shadow on the title, and a repeating shape.

Challenge 5 was a word challenge... love

Cause I did.... the kids are back at school and dh went off to work so I had the house to myself today and for the next 2 days!!!! This is why I took a week off work!
I love them.... but sometimes I really need the quiet!

So in my year of learning to relax what did I do today.... scrapped of course!!!

These 4 monthly challenges from Chookscraps...

This one had to have Blue, 2 photos and a reference to friendship

This challenge was based on the legend of the snowdrop, had to be on a white background, contain wings and a teardrop shape.

And a word prompt challenge... the word was sacrifice.

There's 3 more challenges and another sketch, so depending on what I feel like doing I might work on them tomorrow.

well I have and I haven't...

I've cleaned house, done the washing, scrapbooked and what I really wanted to... relax!

So there's been no photos... you get that!

But scrapping... yes...

I've been working on 2 whiteboards for the last couple of days. I've done them up so that they can go on the wall above my scrap space, and I can put layouts on them on display and be able to change them.

So here is what they look like...

And yes I know one board is darker than the other... I was hoping it wouldn't be noticed, but it is... but there were problems on the creating side... the question is, how noticeable it is, and whether I should try to fix it or if it will make it worse...
I will wait and see...

The boys and I have had a nice relaxing day.... went down to the markets this morning and bought some new fuchsias, then we visited mcdonalds and got an icecream and a coffee for me!
And then home and we've been watching movies all afternoon, while I've been tweaking my storage...

I now have a lovely ink shelf....

It worked really well. This was a wooden CD tower. I removed the black plastic strips that held the cd's and put it on it's side. Holds the larger ink pads perfectly.
I made the small boxes and they hold embossing powders, glitter and inking tools.
An old spice rack holds the colourwashes and glimmer mists.

And this is the whole top of my shelving units...

And with that I've been tweaking the embellishment storage and now it's all neat and tidy and labelled!

So with all of that, I've decided that my clip it up really doesn't work for me. Especially as Charlie Brown likes to play with anything hanging on it!
So I have it up for sale... a Base unit and tip tier, heaps of clips and dividers and some pouches.

So if you're interested, or know of anyone who is, just leave me a message and I will contact you.

Tis very hot here today... and of course I spent most of the day cleaning out DS2's room...

but now all the rubbish has gone gone gone!!!!

And I got one layout done today for the chooks challenges...

So here are the ones I have done...

Challenge 1: handmade flower, ruffles, red embie and a journalling block.

Challenge 2: 2 words or less in the title, Reference to yourself, at least 1 tag and two main colours...

And Challenge 3 was a sketch...

Now I think I might go sit outside for a while and see if I can cool down... way too hot!

don't talk about the last few days....

home work kids yeh yeh yeh.... looking forward to a couple of days off work in a week!

But I did take some pics to share....

Remember the vegie garden we planted out not long ago...? We're starting to harvest the fruits of our labours....

Lots of tomatoes and strawberries and I pick carrots as we need them! Still lots to come including sweet corn!

And Wednesday night I gave DS1 a job to do... he had to cook dinner, so this is what he came up with...

not bad for a 14 year old! He did good!

And tonight I picked this little baby butternut...

and it is a baby too... just big enough for us.

Yes, DS3's crazy crab. And why Jaws... well so far his sunk his claws into the shopkeeper (reduced her to tears!) and DS3... and that was his first day.... lol
therefore the appropriate name would be JAWS!

what happened yesterday....

Leave it to be said that when I said the year was only up from last week count me wrong...
We're waiting on #3 now...

But at this time everyone is ok....

and today's pic is my baby boys....

For those of you who don't know, Charlie Brown is at the top, a 13 month old tonkinese (chief mischief maker!)
and Gryfn is at bottom, 12 month old Maine Coon (my baby boy!) and the innocent one!
Charlie is pretty much fully grown, but Gryfn still has growing to do... yes he's going to be a big boy!

and on the Queensland floods... my heart and thoughts go out to all affected. Makes my troubles a lot less somehow...

My new studio (I prefer the name studio...lol).....

There's still some fine tuning to do, but this is it basically...

ok...some details...

My desk now overlooks the lounge room, straight to the tv so no more twisting my neck to watch tv!
I have my tool caddy on my left (I am left handed!) and then there's another shallower desk under the window to hold the laptop and my cutter. But I can move the cutter out of the way and plug in the printer or the knk depending on what I want to do. It's all within reach.
The shelves in the window recess (the window looks into the garage so no view) still need finishing... basically it's my inspiration wall so it holds my knick knacks and some photos and will hold some things I want to make.
Also on the corner of my desk is my lucky bamboo that I got for Christmas!
The drawers on the small desk hold my camera, spare glues/tapes, the important lollies (lol) and my back up cds...

Ok... onto the shelves...

These still need tweaking...
The shelf on the right holds...
OTP stuff including mini albums, etc (bottom 2 shelves) paints, tools, punches and chipboard and the top shelf has my photo boxes. I still really need to tweak the top 2 shelves here, as I need to work out storage for the larger ink pads which are on the top shelf atm.

and the shelf on the left holds everything else....

Papers on the bottom shelf, inc scraps and 6x6 pads and the files on the bottom contain the family history details, and my sketch books.
The next shelf from the bottom hold (from left) stamps and rubons in the cases and the boxes hold journal bloks, acrylic shapes, felt and wide ribbon, and vinyl for the knk.
The next shelf holds my ribbons, and small embellishments with 3d roses in the glass jars.
And the top shelf holds all of my alphas...

And sitting on the top of the shelves are my kc drawers holding my loose chipboard alphas and shapes, with my jars of flowers on that. I want another set of the drawers to hold the tim holtz metal hardware I have. The spice rack holds all of my glimmer mists and colourwashes (yes I need to alter it!) and the white square bowls hold all of my versacube and dewdrop inks.
And I've pulled ut my clip it up which holds rubons and stickers.

So who wants to come play?

are not my favourite people atm...

What should have been a very simple job has turned into a mission...
Saw 5 pieces of timber in half, then glue and screw it all together...well that's what it should have happened but of course the timber was not cut properly and what should have all been 1200x450 was 1200 all through to 1210 and half of it was 445 instead of 450...
so dh had to trim them all to the same size..

therefore this is what my shelves look like...

and not all nicely finished and loaded up with all my scrapping supplies like they should be!

This is some of the stuff I've moved out to rearrange.... I'm getting dh to make me another set of shelves to match the ones I've got and moving out the set of drawers. I've set up a new side desk to hold the laptop and my cutter, and there's space to put the printer or the knk depending on what I want to do.

And I know I didn't put up a pic last night, but I did take one....

I was busy last night reading Angels and Demons... now just to watch the movie!

The roses were looking gorgeous this morning, but the heat has burnt all that were open. But I love the smell of rain after a hot day and I'm certain the garden is loving the water....

and dh is better and finally home so all is good... now I just need some sleep!

Needless to say I'm not buying any new pencils for school this year... lol

Well it's another new year... this one hasn't started overly well with dh being quite sick and spending a few days in hospital. So it was a very quiet night for us last night.
But I hope everyone had a lovely night and the year is going to be a bright wonderful year for all of us!

So being a new year, I've decided I need to work on some goals... I will be back with these another day as I am still working on them...
But one I am going to do and I will need you all to kick my butt if I don't, is to update my blog regularly and to help me do that I'm going to share a photo a day...
So here is today's....

A nice clean, spotless boy's room.... this is what I've spent all day doing removing all the rubbish that he hordes and rearranging the room. And I've got a pinky promise from him that it's going to stay that way! Especially as Mum found his DS that was lost for 2 weeks.... !
But we will see how it all goes...

and even though I haven't had time to scrapbook yet (it's going to happen! after I finish backing up the computer...) I have taken pics of the cover I made for my christmas present... my kobo e-reader...

This has been made using an old diary cover I had and covering the front with Websters Pages, and I've used a soft foam on the inside to protect the Kobo.
The Kobo is held in with black velcro strips so I can remove it from the cover if I like. And the closure is a hinge made of grungeboard and a tim holtz hitch fastener.
The little pocket/envelope on the front is to hold SD cards that hold books. The kobo will read them, so it's a good way to keep a library!
Much cheaper than the covers I've seen online for $45-50.... and definately much more stylish!!!!

Yes I know it's been a while, but I have been so busy it's not funny.
With work and christmas and the lead up to christmas I haven't had any time to do any scrapping....

Well I've managed 1 layout... now isn't that sad!

This simple one using Websters Pages bloomers which I've finally managed to get my hot little hands on!

Ok... I have to be truthful... I've managed a couple of others, but they are in my childhood album and I haven't taken any photos yet of any of the pages. I might just have to take a pic or 2 of a couple of the pages just to give you a teaser of what it looks like. Could be I might just be working on it for a while, though I've sketched all the pages out.... we'll see....

I hope Santa was good to you and you had a wonderful Christmas... I know he brought me what I wanted... a Kobo e-book reader (hmm... will have to share the cover I made for it... when I think about it I HAVE done some scrapping...lol)
and some funny little gnome's from the kids.... will take some pics of them... you will get a laugh!

Anyway... my christmas pudding and custard is getting cold, so it's time for me to go....

I've spent all weekend scrapping... for work and not for me... but it's fun playing with stuff even if it's for work!
So what have I done...

well... the display stand at work required a sign... (well something that covered the old brand name on it)... and this is what I came up with...

the wording has been cut out on my klic-n-kut... I guess it's about time I pulled it out and used it. Just because it took me all day to get it to talk to my laptop is beside the point. But now it's done, so I'm going to use it more often.
Actually I've decided I will spend one day setting up and cutting out flourishes on vinyl and cardstock so I've got them when I want them.

I also did up some new layouts for the shop as well... using the offcuts of papers from the sign (Websters Seaside Retreat)

Childhood memories

I've been working on a little project this week... my childhood album!
I kept changing my mind on what I wanted to do... a tin and digital which I started but they really didn't appeal to me as I wanted something to display properly.

So now I've made my own album up this week to hold 8x8 layouts. The paper has been chosen... basic grey bittersweet. I've had a 6x6 pad sitting here for ages so it's time I used it! I will also be using a little porcelain and urban prairie too...

But the cover of the album is now done. I've made it from scratch using chipboard and a d-ring centre I got from a file that was broken.
The binding is chipboard that I curved by dampening it and rolling it around a rolling pin... who said a rolling pin is only for cooking!!!

and I made the charms for the spine today ... the first time I've made them.
